Oh the places you'll go!

What if you could?! What is you could achieve that amazing goal you have floating around in your brain?  What if you could work toward change from unhealthy to healthy behavior?  What if you could find your unique path to recovery from addiction?

I am here to tell you you can! You CAN achieve anything you set your mind too. Dr. Seuss was an amazing writer of books that tell us we CAN! You can do what is needed to work toward change in any area of your life. I promise you that.

If you are willing to put in the work you CAN make amazing change in your life. If you are willing to dedicate yourself to doing what is needed you CAN achieve amazing things. I know you can. 

I always say....if this guy can do it, I KNOW you can. I am nobody special and I am certainly not the smartest person in the room.

What I have done to attain life success you can latch onto for yourself. One key attribute about me that you can use for yourself is I simply don't give up. I keep trying no matter what. I stay the course in spite of set backs. I keep trudging when life gets tough, as it sometimes will.  You can adapt this same mindset for yourself and your goals. 

First, write it down......write down the goal you will achieve and put it where you will see it everyday.  On your bathroom mirror, in your bedroom where you will see it every time you wake up. Put a recurring reminder on your phone so it pops up everyday.  

Next, strategize....sit down and pencil out all the steps necessary to get to the goal you want to achieve. If you don't know the how, ask someone to help you with this step. I have achieved none of my success without the help of others. Find someone who is where you want to be and ask how they did it.  Write it out so you have a clear picture of what you need to do to achieve your goal.

Start doing the work and don't fucking give up.  Yeah, the f-bomb came out. To often we start working toward a goal for the short term, we don't see immediate results, and we throw in the towel. Stay the course!  Surround yourself with people who will support you and hold you accountable to make sure you are doing what is needed each day, each week, each month toward your goal.  I don't care what it is....you need the support and help from others.

Do something each day to work toward the goal.  It might be something small in a given day or it might be something big....the key is to do SOMETHING everyday toward that goal.  When we create this habit it will help in big ways to keep you on track. You have to do the work and you have to do the work consistently....create a habit of positive forward movement toward the goal and you are sure to achieve it.

Give yourself grace and don't think it all has to be perfect. You will trip up, you will fuck up, you will make mistakes.  Nothing great has been achieved perfectly.  The key here, is to give yourself some grace.  Yes, learn from your mistakes. Don't keep making the same mistake....learn and move on. Keep doing the work even when you hit a wall.  Even when you hit a road block. Give yourself grace along the way and know that nothing good comes easy and you don't have to do everything perfect.  

KNOW that you CAN achieve anything in life you set you mind to if you are willing to do the work.  I know you can. If I can, I KNOW YOU CAN!
